Mind Battles

The battle is for the mind?

Early in my network marketing career, I heard a successful networker say "the battle is for the mind".  She was a former IT person turned professional network marketer.  She and her husband were leading one of the largest teams in that company.

Despite having no experience in network marketing, they found their business had taken off at a rapid pace.  To deal with the challenges of growth and an expanding team of distributors, they had to develop mental toughness by reading books, learning the industry, learning the company and the services they provided.
You know the saying "network marketing is personal development with a compensation plan attached"  I have found that to be true, and the benefits can be extremely lucrative.

Before you can have any measure of success in business, you need to work on your mindset.  It begins with your decision to be successful and be the leader people are looking for.  A positive mindset is critical to the success of your business.

Why develop a positive mindset?

As you embark on your network marketing journey, you must take full responsibility for your own results.  You cannot put your success in the hands of your upline, downline, or sideline, and then pass blame when things don’t turn out as you had expected.
The fact is network marketing is NOT easy and if it was, everyone would be doing it, right?  There is
no such thing as “overnight success” or “easy riches”.  Your success may take you months or even years – you never know when your breakthrough is going to come and things happen for you.

Turn challenges into opportunities?

Moreover, your path to success will not be free of obstacles and challenges. In fact, there are bumps and setbacks in everyone’s life and career.  Successful people encounter challenges all the way to the top and they turn those challenges into opportunities.  It takes a winning mindset to overcome the challenge and see the potential of your business.
So, it’s important to develop mental toughness. When you come across obstacles and challenges, you will need extra motivation, full commitment, total determination, extra drive, patience and persistence to overcome them.

Are you up for the battle?

10 Things To Post on Your Facebook Page

Have you been wondering what to post on your Facebook page to get more likes and conversation on your posts?  Have you simply run out of ideas?  We'll I did.  So, I decided to see what Google had to say and found an interesting article in Forbes.
100 Killer Ideas For Your Social Media Content
Picture
There are more than enough ideas to get your creative thoughts flowing.  Here are 10 ideas from the article.
  1. Fill-in-the-blank-posts (e.g. "If I had $1 million dollars, I would ____________")
  2. Questions:  Post simple basic questions your followers can answer quickly (e.g. How long does it take to lose 10 pounds?)
  3. Post a branded image:  A funny or inspirational image with your logo or website URL on it  (e.g. Find a nice quote and use an image editor to put your website URL on it.  You can also post a weight loss before and after picture that provides inspiration to those looking to lose weight).  I like to use Powerpoint to do this and then save the slide as an image
  4. Share random tips:  Periodically post something random, a tip or trick you find useful
  5. Ask for advice:  Pose a hypothetical question and ask your friends what they would do
  6. Post a video testimony:  Post a video review of your product, or ask your friends to post a video testimony (i.e. Do a review of the Iaso Nutraburst product, Delgada Slimming Coffee, or Resolution Drops)
  7. YouTube video:  Find an interesting video and post to your wall for your friends to enjoy
  8. Post a 'truth or fiction' question:  Let your followers post whether they think it is truth or myth
  9. Awards or accolades you have received:  Be careful here...the idea is to build trust, not brag
  10. Promote your products or services:  This was number 100 on the list, the very last recommendation.  Social media should be used to build relationships, trust, and build your reputation as an expert in your industry.  When people do want to buy, they will think of you first.  Remember that people buy from those they know, like and trust.

The last item on the list - Promote your Products or Services - is a challenge for Total Life Changes Independent Business Owners.  So many have been successful doing this while others have not.  I say it depends on your network of friends and followers and what they are receptive too.  If you have a good balance of self promotion mixed with other fun and engaging posts, you will increase engagement.  If you find that none of  your posts are getting any likes or conversation, then try some new posts.
To quote Marci Loomis, a top producer on the Gold Alliance team, "People don't care about your business, they care about their problems".  Keep this in mind as you look for creative ways to improve engagement with your posts.
